About LeagueIndex
Big Questions. Everyday Curiosities.
Explore political parties, policing and Italian restaurants around the world. The idea is simple: turn detailed research into points, positions and stories you can follow.
How it works
From Research to Points.
An index brings several measures together into one score. A league table shows how the entries compare. We work through complex datasets, surveys and research to make that comparison easier to follow.
-
Gather the Evidence
We bring together information that fits the question: public surveys, official records, expert assessments, or a combination of observational and review checks.
-
Work Out the Points
Each league has its own scoring method. The methodology explains what is assessed and how to read the results.
-
Look a Little Closer
The table is the starting point. Explore the entries and read the methodology to understand the evidence and its limits.
Our leagues
What the Rankings Mean in Practice.
Our leagues explore how political parties operate, how people see the police in their country, and how Italian restaurants compare around the world. Here’s what each one can help you understand.
Politics
PublishedPolitical Parties Integrity Index
The index looks at how parties treat democratic rules and a free press, whether they are open about what they do, and concerns about corruption and the use of power. It also includes electoral strength, reflecting a party’s political weight.
In practice, it helps you compare how parties operate and the influence behind their actions. A higher score means a stronger combined result across these measures. The profiles explain why each party sits where it does.

PublishedEuropean Police Confidence
and Rights Context Index
This league asks how much people trust their police, whether they believe officers act honestly and treat people fairly, and whether they think misconduct is investigated and punished.
Those public views make up 80% of the score. The other 20% comes from expert assessments of freedom from government torture and political killings. A higher score means a stronger combination of public confidence and these wider rights conditions.
The score describes the national picture. Police forces are named in the profiles, but are not scored separately. A high position cannot guarantee that everyone has a good experience with the police.

PublishedLa Lega — Italian Restaurant League
Italian cooking has a worldwide following. This league brings together restaurants in Italy and beyond, making it easy to follow the leading contenders or explore the field closer to home.
The methodology combines observational checks and review checks across multiple sources. Ranked restaurants compete in Serie A, Serie B and Serie C, with points out of 100. Equal scores share a place and stay in the same division.
The selection covers the restaurants assessed for this edition. Of the 217 entries, 216 are ranked and one is unranked.

Politics, Pasta and What Comes Next.
Italian restaurants now join politics and policing in our published leagues. More leagues are planned for food, entertainment and social life, including influencers. Each will have its own question, evidence and scoring method.
LeagueIndex is for anyone who enjoys a good comparison. You might come to follow a political debate, explore an interest or simply find something worth talking about.
Behind the tables is careful research. We develop our methods with the Media and Journalism Research Center (MJRC) and work independently. Each league’s methodology explains the details for readers who want to look closer.
